Paralegal (Government Contracts) The candidate will provide organizational and substantive support to attorneys and paralegals within the practice group. Assignments may extend into other practice areas. Ensures client service and satisfaction are attained in all areas of position. Develop practice-specific knowledge, skills, and experience to manage projects and determine appropriate course of action; maintain proficiency in technology relevant to the position. Complete assignments following well-defined procedures; apply accrued knowledge and skills to manage general tasks independently. Develop research skills to identify and organize information and verify accuracy and completeness of information. Leverage resources to ensure highest quality of work product and to increase efficiency. Effectively organize and manage assignments to complete competing tasks within a timely manner. Organize and maintain files and databases relevant to practice group. Develop analytical skills to identify issues and effectively make decisions; resolve issues of limited scope and complexity exercising good judgment. Comply with administrative requirements to meet billable expectations; prepare and release timenotes on a daily basis; prepare and submit timecards on a weekly basis. Assist in all phases of bid protests before the U.S. General Accountability Office ( GAO ) and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims ( COFC ) from inception to resolution. Assist with confidential and protected document collections, reviews, and exchange as well as disposition of protected materials per specific rules. Assist with trial and hearing preparation and logistics, including preparation of witness files, management of exhibits, setting up trial space, and attending trial and hearings, as required. Assist with the preparation of government agency and court filings, including cite and fact checking legal briefs, proofreading, and assembling of exhibits and appendices. Consult with firms eDiscovery Resource Management team to manage document databases and coordinate electronic secure document exchange with courts or government agencies. Review and analyze client files, data and documents to assist in the investigation of facts and allegations involved in discovery. Track and monitor filing deadlines and maintain bid protest calendars. Bachelor's Degree preferred. 2+ years as a Paralegal in practice area or comparable work experience preferred.
