# Civil Litigation Associate Attorney - St. Louis Evans & Dixon, a highly recognized law firm, is seeking a Civil Associate Attorney to join their downtown Saint Louis office. The ideal candidate should have a law degree from an ABA accredited law school, be licensed in Illinois and have at least 3+ years of experience and possible portable billings. ## Responsibilities The Civil Associate Attorney will be responsible for: * Autonomously handling a large volume of files and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment * Managing cases from inception through discovery and trial preparation * Advising and representing clients in courts, before government agencies, and in private legal matters * Taking depositions of the claimant, witnesses, physicians, medical experts, and other parties * Drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, opinions, appeals, contracts, and other legal documents * Gathering evidence and obtaining medical records for client strategy * Remaining current with developments in the law * Litigating cases before the workers compensation division * Negotiating legal contract terms on behalf of clients and presenting arguments and counter arguments in court * Interpreting laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses * Working efficiently with corporate professionals ## Skills and Specifications The ideal candidate for the Civil Associate Attorney position should possess the following skills and specifications: * Knowledge of substantive and procedural law * Strong written and oral advocacy skills * Analytical and logical reasoning abilities * Ability to synthesize complex legal and factual materials * Superior interpersonal skills * Client development skills * Ability to handle large caseloads and juggle multiple priorities and deadlines * Excellent negotiation skills ## Education and Qualifications The Civil Associate Attorney should possess the following education and qualifications: * A law degree from an ABA accredited law school * License in Illinois required, Missouri a plus ## Compensation and Benefits Evans & Dixon offers a generous benefits package along with competitive compensation based on experience level and client orientation, including: * Medical insurance plan * Dental insurance plan * Vision insurance plan * Contribution to life insurance plan * 401k profit sharing * Parking reimbursement * Social, charity and wellness events A law degree from an ABA accredited law school, License in Illinois required, Missouri a plus
