Legal Secretary - Mediation Department The candidate will be a responsible for performing secretarial duties using legal terminology, procedures, and documents. The department is in charge of making demands and giving settlement authority, under the supervision of the managing partner. S/he will be able to work autonomously and efficiently to ensure the timely completion of work. Ensure that all forms and documents for ADR are filed timely with the court. Ensure that the attorneys and clients are prepared for the mediations. Carry out strategic direction of the Managing Partner via demands. Mail, fax, or arrange for delivery of legal correspondence to clients, witnesses, and court officials. Receive and place telephone calls to court officials, clients, co-counsel, and vendors. Organize and maintain documents and case files. Make photocopies and scans of correspondence, documents, and other printed matter. Minimum Bachelor's Degree/Paralegal Certificate OR 2-3 years of previous Legal Secretary experience OR Equivalent combination of education and experience. Attention to detail is of paramount importance. Must possess excellent communication skills, verbal and written, as well as excellent active listening skills. Strong organizational and time management skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; ability to quickly learn and become proficient in Firm Client Database. Ability to multitask, prioritize, think critically and work under pressure with confidential material. Operate standard office equipment.
