Paralegal The candidate will assist the attorneys with probate proceedings, probate and guardianship accountings, estate planning documents, and decedents estates. Draft legal documents, and an understanding of court rules and procedures. Typing correspondence and legal paperwork. Scheduling, calendaring, coordinating and confirming court dates, appointments and meetings. Arrange for the filing and e-filings of court documents with the Firm s e-file vendors and various courts. Ongoing filing and organization of all correspondence, document drafts, court filings, etc. to ensure thorough organization of client materials. Preparation of annual accountings for probate estates and guardianship estates. Ensure the confidentiality of information, as necessary. Create and maintain client contact information. Other duties as assigned by attorneys.
Qualifications: 3 years' prior experience as a paralegal in the areas of probate, guardianships, decedents estates, and estate planning. Demonstrate proficiency in the Firm software applications, including the Microsoft Office Suite of products (Word, Excel, and Outlook), the WordPerfect Suite of products (WordPerfect and Quattro) as well as billing management software (Quickbooks). Time management skills. The ability to work well, both independently, and in a team environment. Demonstrated problem solving skills, planning and priority-setting, as well the ability to think critically and analyze specific issues.. Organizational skills to manage files and records.
