This mid size Orlando office maintains a full service civil law practice. The is organized into the following areas: litigation, health law, communications and media, employment and labor, tax, personal planning and employee benefits, securities and public offering, real estate, and business and corporate office. Legal Secretary Responsibilities: Compose and type routine correspondence for review. Provide professional telephone coverage at attorney's request. File correspondence and other documents and records. Schedule appointments and maintains attorney's calendar. Set up and maintain chronological correspondence and client matter files. File all necessary documents with courts (e-filing). Docket all necessary dates for litigation deadlines. Maintain pleading indexes for all litigation matters. Maintain attorney's client contact information. Perform initial conflict checks and open/close client matters. Manage billing process and complete narrative edits in coordination with Billing Specialist. Enter and release attorney's time in accordance with firm guidelines. Draft, revise, edit, and proofread documents. Set-up and maintain hard copy files for client matters. Enter all expenses into Chrome River. Request checks for various vendors. Assist with keeping records of all required CLE hours. Maintain client/matter list for attorneys. Coordinate hotel and flight travel arrangements. Coordinate lunch and dinner reservations with clients. Stay current in the use of all firm systems and practices. Other duties as requested and assigned. Requirements: High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED); with 4 years of related experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to multi-task and be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Demonstrates good judgment, tact, and flexibility under pressure in a mixed-matrix environment with many competing priorities. A strong client service approach and team orientation.
