Paralegal - First-Party Insurance Candidate will work with a rising legal team that is on the forefront of litigating and trying cases with ambitions of trying bigger cases for the benefit of consumers and working people. Drafting discovery, e-filing, preparing trial notebooks, ordering records, signing-up new cases, responding to client inquiries, customer service, client correspondence, scheduling depositions, scheduling mediation and arbitration, coordinating with deposition companies, correspondence with adjusters, scheduling inspections, etc. Managing pre-litigation and litigation stages of your dockets by taking ownership of files. Assisting attorneys in preparation for hearings. arbitration, mediation, and trials. Investigating and fact-finding for cases. Assisting in preparing legal documents such as legal arguments, motions, contracts and agreements. Organizing, indexing and tracking files through our Needles case management database as well as internal server.
Qualifications: Associate degree in paralegal studies or NALA or AACP certification preferred. 5+ years' experience in first-party insurance/storm damage litigation; Experience with/in 10+ Trials; Bilingual highly preferred; and Needles experiencd preferred. Must be reliable, passionate, self-motivated, and a team-player. Must have references that will be checked. Must have ability to manage case from sign-up to closing out post-verdict or settlement with assistance of other support staff. Excellent Computer Skills (Excel, Outlook, Microsoft). Needles experience preferred. Ability to multi-task and perform on deadline. Team player.
