Litigation Paralegal The candidate will draft deposition notices, extensions, standard discovery requests, HIPAA releases. Scheduling: deposition, trial preparation, court reporters, defense counsel meetings, internal meetings, meetings w/ treating physicians/fact witnesses & counsel if applicable. Research as requested by attorneys. Draft & design demonstratives. Analyze damages claims (reviewing bills, creating spreadsheet comparison). E-File experience, comfort level with learning and adhering to filing requirements among a variety of platforms. Perform e-billing maintenance: submitting budgets, managing contested bills, overseeing timekeeper submissions, communicating with accounting department. Follow-up on medical requests and prepare electronic/hard copy organization files for use by attorneys. Retrieve and organize pleadings and other case documents from court dockets, Document Management Software (DMS), or litigation support software for review by attorneys. Bachelor's degree and paralegal certificate is preferred. Should have 5+ years of experience. Should be proficient in Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn new software. Exceptional interpersonal skills and a high degree of initiative is needed. Independent judgment with excellent troubleshooting and follow-through skills in order to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, detail-oriented work environment. Advanced skills to communicate both in writing and verbally is needed. Should have the ability to research and pick things up quickly.
