Associate Attorney - Bankruptcy The candidate will review plans to determine if objections to confirmation are warranted. File Proofs of Claim, Amended Proofs of Claim, Notice of Post-Petition Fees and Costs, Payment Changes, Notices of Final Accounting, and other documents as necessary. Review Lift Stay referrals to determine if motions are warranted and discuss options with clients. Answer objections and responses. Respond to client inquiries. Review daily ECF summaries to determine necessary actions. Settle case dockets with other attorneys. Assists other offices and the foreclosure department in any way possible. Update client middleware when required. Communicate with clients through a combination of phone, email, and client database systems. Maintain current knowledge of any trends, regulations, or legislation affecting the areas of bankruptcy. Should have Juris Doctorate; Licensed to practice law in Texas. Should have 2 years of bankruptcy experience. Must be a self-starter and be able to work independently. Must be interested in making court appearances and have knowledge of the federal rules of evidence as evidentiary hearings are common. Must have an understanding of debtor/creditor relations and keep abreast of current legal requirements. Should have strong analytical skills with attention to detail; excellent oral and written communication skills; excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills; ability to work through complex financial issues; ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet/exceed priority deadlines.
