Paralegal Duties: Reviewing case records including trusts, wills, correspondence, tax returns, financial documents and medical record. Effectively manage various projects simultaneously, pursue matters to completion with minimal supervision or direction, and take initiative to improve processes. Calendaring/docketing management for all active matters, including all tax related deadlines. Providing summary presentations to the supervising attorney and produce written reports. Researching local and state rules, statutes and orders. Preparing petitions and supporting evidence to present and file. Qualifications: BA or BS degree preferred. Associate's degree or paralegal certificate with 5 years of comparable work experience required. Ability to multitask using analytical and problem-solving skills within a fast-paced environment with competing demands. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrate flexibility regarding client and legal team requests. Achieve high level of productivity. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong problem-solving skills. Working knowledge of estate accounting and tax computer software/systems. Ability to adapt to change and balance competing demands. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Ability to work independently and take initiative. Ability to maintain highest level of confidentiality and provide outstanding customer service to internal and external clients/contacts. Knowledge of estate and trust terminology and related documents. Office accounting methods and techniques, including: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, as well as the ability to learn other programs. Proven ability conduct independent legal research. Prepare and understand estate and trust financial accounts as well as other financial and statistical reports. Compose and disseminate correspondence as required. Ability to prepare tax forms, including federal forms 56, 706, 709, 2848, as well as applicable local property tax and documentary transfer tax forms.
