Paralegal Responsibilities: As a member of the Paraprofessional team, work under the direction of Attorneys and Senior Paralegals supporting the delivery of quality legal services to clients and provide assistance to others in all aspects of litigation, focusing primarily on the organization and indexing of case materials and clerical functions as required. Will: Prepare document indices; organize and set up documents and evidence in case rooms in preparation for depositions, trials, hearings, arbitrations and mediations; Prepare witness kits; Coordinate copy projects; conduct document comparisons between copied documents and originals to ensure accuracy and quality; Perform electronic searches for defined terms using databases, and document searching software; Review files and obtain photocopies from court, the recorder s office, etc.; Use electronic research tools and the library to locate cases, statutes and legal authorities to compile into binders; Reviews documents for basic facts or names, performs redacting when necessary and draft; Draft routine memoranda and correspondence; and Performs other related duties as assigned. Gain experience and develop a greater understanding of litigation, more advanced projects may be delegated to you, such as assisting with factual research and investigation, document collection and substantive review, trial preparation, and post-trial activities. You may perform basic legal research into case law and statutory law and cite checks and shepardize results in a library or with LEXIS or WESTLAW. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree required with a strong academic background. Paralegal Certificate from an ABA approved training program is preferable. Prior legal experience or the equivalent experience is useful. Prior office experience preferred. Attention to detail, a flexible schedule, excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills. Aptitude to develop specific and detailed knowledge and understanding of complex issues and procedures. Strong time management skills with shown experience working in an energizing environment and ability to coordinate multiple tasks concurrently. Ability to work in a forward-thinking working environment within a team environment. Advanced computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn any practice related software. Overtime likely.
