Legal Secretary Duties: Drafting and editing correspondence. Preparing legal documents, court filings, file maintenance. Proofreading correspondence and pleadings. Calendaring conferences and court deadlines. Westlaw: basic legal research. Interacting with sophisticated clients, scheduling meetings and other related tasks. Qualifications: A paralegal certificate is preferred. Experience supporting both Partner and Associate level attorneys. Must have prior legal secretary experience, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong writing/grammar skills, ability to multi-task and work within deadlines. Qualified candidates must be able to work in a team environment and have the ability to adapt to changes in workload and job responsibilities. Litigation skills are a must. Will be highly reliable, organized, exceptionally detail-oriented, and able to follow instructions as well as anticipate the needs of the attorneys and the firm as a whole. Must show proficiency in all of these areas: Court filings following e-filing procedures as mandated by state and federal courts; Microsoft Office; Gmail and Google Calendar, Adobe Acrobat: converting, editing, OCR and exporting documents.
