Litigation Paralegal The candidate will conduct research on relevant laws, regulations and articles. Organize and maintain documents in the physical file and in the firm's document Management software. Gather, maintain current and arrange evidence and other legal documents for attorney review and case preparation. Write reports to help attorneys prepare for trial. Obtain affidavits and other formal documents/statements that may be used as evidence in court. Assist lawyers during trials by handlings exhibits, taking notes or reviewing trial transcripts. File exhibits, briefs, appeals and other legal documents (after lawyer has reviewed and approved) with the court or opposing council. Should have 2-3 years' experience summarizing and analyzing medical records. Preferred candidates will have experience. The candidate will assist and provide a wide range of legal support to the supervising attorney(s). These duties will include maintaining files, conducting legal research, drafting documents, communicating with clients and other parties involve in the cases etc. This position requires knowledge of law offices common practices and the legal field. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint required. E-filing knowledge in preparation to file all types of discovery requests, responses to opposing counsel, and motions required. Knowledge of legal documents and terminology required. Knowledge of billing required. Knowledge of investigating the facts of a case required.
