Litigation Paralegal The candidate will assist the firm in all phases of wage and hour cases, including pre-suit settlements, litigation, and trials. Will handle all aspects of managing a federal law suit. Client intake and communications, answer phones, and screen calls Request, receive, and process documents from clients and opposing parties Draft demand letters and create settlement packets. File necessary documents in state and federal courts. Filling with ECF complaints, motions, and other papers on electronic docket. Perfecting service of process in state and federal court. Communicate with court staff, co-counsel and opposing counsel and their staff. Update and manage trial calendar with an understanding of the importance of an accurate and organized calendar. Organize client files (paper and electronic), input client data and track case status in case management system. Draft, review, manage, and organize discovery documents produced and received. Create damage charts and spreadsheets. Draft legal documents. Track all case expenses and costs in an organized and efficient manner. Edit and proofread all written material. Trial preparation with trial lawyers.
Qualifications: Class/Collective Action experience a plus. Familiarity with every stage of litigation. Positive, upbeat, team player who enjoys a comfortable work environment. Ability to work in fast paced environment while staying calm, organized, and on task. Desire to help people fitting with our client focused mentality. Present a professional image for firm. Excellent organization skills and attention to detail; strong written and oral communication. Commitment to maintaining the highest ethical standards and adhering to rules of professional responsibility. Creative and innovative mindset; able to create, implement, and manage new systems and processes. Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision. Competent with Microsoft Office Suite, case management and billing software. Willingness and desire to learn new technologies.
