Immigration Attorney Candidate will be primarily responsible for working with the senior attorneys in the filing of assigned immigration case work. Will have a professional image in representing the firm through in-person and phone interaction. Work with the attorneys to: Represent clients in all aspects of business and family immigration law; Prioritize case work and projects as needed; Liaise with other attorneys in the firm Maintain accuracy in high volume, rapid turnover caseload. Participate in other office projects as assigned. Correspond with the client during the intake process and during the case. Assists client/employees with technical issues in completing the questionnaires and submitting documents. Work with paralegals and legal assistants to: Obtain documents and information necessary to prepare applications for multiple cases at a time. Draft support statements and organize documentation for filling. File and monitor applications and petitions with appropriate government agencies. Facilitate work to file cases timely and under established goals. Perform some legal and internet research. Take the initiative to learn and master immigration filing processing. Learn and master the procedures and documentation required for successful case filings to the appropriate government agency. Prepare letters and other documents on behalf of the employer and/or client and finalize documents.. Ensure database(s) are updated. Run reports to assist in managing own caseload. Ensure all deadlines are met. Qualifications: JD degree and must have passed a state bar examination. Prior immigration or legal experience a plus. Experience working in an office setting, preferred Fluency in another language (written and spoken) preferred. Excellent English language skills, both spoken and written. Attention to detail mandatory. Able to learn and effectively implement new processes quickly. Superb organizational skills. Ability to follow instructions and act independently. Ability to manage heavy case-load and work within strict timelines. Good writing and editing skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Strong computer skills. Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills. Good case management aptitude and analytical skills. Good independent judgment. Ability to function as part of a team. Works well under pressure and prioritize and balance competing demands.
