Legal Secretary Duties: Proofread and revise documents, including engagement letters, PowerPoint presentations, memoranda, client and other correspondence; check for accuracy of copy, grammar, and punctuation. Accurately complete e-Filing in various courts and in accordance with established court rules of the applicable jurisdiction. Filing: maintain paper and/or electronic filing, in a timely manner, of all correspondence, pleadings and case/client documents as directed by supervising attorneys, using the firms records management database in accordance with established standards and procedures. Calendaring, including tracking of litigation deadlines. Prepare and enter travel and vendor items into our system for payment. Schedule depositions, conference calls for lawyers/clients and make appointments when necessary. Perform other duties as assigned by attorneys and/or administrative managers. Qualifications: High School Diploma required, Bachelor's degree preferred. 2-4 years' prior litigation secretarial experience. iManage experience preferred. Prior knowledge of State and Federal filing and service deadlines for various litigation tasks, including familiarity of the California Code of Civil Procedure. Strong experience and knowledge of the US Federal Court Case Management/Electronic Case File (CM/ECF)/PACER system and of electronic filing systems highly preferred. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Typing speed of 60+ wpm. Strong experience and knowledge of litigation practice and processes. Able to work independently, as well as a team, with minimal supervision. Respectful of peoples differences in background, culture, and perspective.
