Legal Secretary Duties: Preparation and/or revision of letters, memoranda and legal documents using Microsoft Word and its features via digital dictation or other means. Manipulation of documents which includes the duplication, printing, mailing, location, formatting and/or merging of documents. Proofreading of all work for both accurate content and context. E-filing documents when necessary. Preparing and maintaining client and office files both in electronic and paper filing systems and proper use of firm document management system. Input lawyers time into time entry system. Preparation and submission of new client and/or new matter forms. Make travel arrangements which include: transportation, automobile rentals, and hotel reservations with in-house travel agent. Preparing and submitting expense reports using Chrome River and performing electronic check requests, when required. Communicating with clients and co-workers via phone or email. Scheduling and coordinating meetings and conferences with Conference Center Coordinator and EMS system. Managing attorneys calendars including docketing.
QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma. Legal Secretary or equivalent experience preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft applications with advanced level in Microsoft Word and Outlook. Outstanding written and verbal communications; ability to professionally interact with clients, attorneys, and staff is required. Strong document processing skills and typing skills. Strong project management and technical skills a plus
