Legal Secretary RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist attorneys in the preparation, formatting, and revision of legal documenting including, stipulations, motions, exhibits, and pleadings, etc. for court filing. Electronic filing of court documents using NYS ECF platforms. Provide secretarial/administrative support to attorneys, including answering phones, drafting emails, written correspondence, scanning, handling incoming and outgoing mail, creating PDF documents, copying, faxing, transcribing, creating and maintaining files, and other clerical duties as required. Arrange conferences, meetings and depositions as well as coordinate work with outside vendors. Client interaction in person and over the phone. Qualifications: 2+ years of legal secretary experience in litigation required. Familiar with NYS Supreme procedures a plus. Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities. Effectively handle multiple tasks and evolving deadlines. Excellent communication skills (written and oral) including proofreading. Detail oriented with strong organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a team. Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times. Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, WordPerfect, Adobe, and Timeslips. Must have strong typing skills and the ability to learn new software programs if necessary. Proficiency on the following equipment: computers, printers, copy machines, telephones and transcription machines including Dictaphone, and fax machines. The use of a typewriter may be necessary. Spanish speaking a plus.
