Title : Immigration Attorney

Immigration Attorney The candidate will be responsible for performing intake and assessing matters for potential clients, identifying avenues to obtain or preserve lawful status and/or pursue relief from removal, including representation of criminal and/or detained noncitizens, as well as developing and implementing strategies to protect and defend immigrants before USCIS, DOS and litigation before the immigration courts, BIA and federal courts. Will be involved in community outreach, developing and presenting materials on immigration-related topics, including legal education, advocacy and policy reform. The position also involves training and supervising legal and administrative staff, as necessary. The candidate should have a Juris Doctor degree and current admission in good standing to a State Bar (Colorado bar admission preferred). Minimum two(2) years practicing immigration law (some credit for active student clinical work or internships). Strong experience in family-based immigration and removal defense (including representation of detained aliens, asylum seekers, crime and trafficking victims, juveniles), and/or immigration-related litigation. Spanish language is required. Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend Spanish. Excellent written/oral communication, analytical, organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment with professionalism, humor, grace and grit. Ability to develop and manage workflow, adapt to shifting demands, prioritize and meet deadlines, and manage client relations and expectations. Effectively communicate, demonstrate teamwork and maintain positive work relationships with staff, community partners, clients/client family members, stakeholders, government officials and others in a responsive and professional manner.
