Legal Secretary The candidate is responsible for document preparation, heavy editing, formatting, and proofreading of documents. Assemble documents in .pdf format. Verify all attachments, exhibits, and enclosures are included in final documents and included with transmittal letters/memos. Prepare closing documents, signature pages, and closing binders. Draft routine correspondence, memoranda, and other documents. File pleadings using both Federal and State court e-filing systems. Maintain pleading binders; document production; schedule court reporters. Save documents into the document management system. Input attorney time into the time and billing system. Prepare expense reports: manage vendor invoices. Answer phones, schedule appointments, calendar management, and open and distribute mail. Assist other Legal Secretaries within the Firm as needed. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Should have 5+ years of legal secretarial experience. Should have the ability to work well independently as well as effectively and collaboratively within a team. Strong written and verbal communication skills; strong organizational skills are essential. Proficiency in Word (including Styles), Excel, Outlook, and Adobe; ability to learn new software and technologies is required. Should have the ability to multi-task; adaptability. Experience with document management software is needed. Knowledge of Illinois and Federal Court procedures is a plus. Experience with Pacer and Odyssey e-filing systems is a plus.
