H1: Legal Secretary/Paralegal Job at H2: Job Responsibilities The is seeking a full-time and part-time Legal Secretary or Paralegal. This position will be based in our Baltimore, MD office, and will require a minimum of a Bachelor's degree with some educational or job experience in the legal field. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of duties, including: * Transcribing and proofreading legal documents, including briefs, motions, pleadings, and subpoenas * Maintaining docket control systems to track legal deadlines * Updating and indexing pleadings and trial binders * General client correspondence, including client intakes and weekly case updates * Filling documents with the Federal, Maryland, and D.C. courts, as well as government agencies * Assisting with legal research and communicating with lawyers, experts, vendors, opposing counsels, and other staff * Social media and other community education outreach and blog posts * Abstracting court records, land records, probate searches, and other legal documents * Logging calls, invoices, expenses, and client information into the firm's internal management system H2: Qualifications and Requirements The ideal candidate will possess professional written and communication skills, with strong proofreading skills. Candidates must be familiar with real estate, probate, and general court documents. This position can be either a full-time or part-time position, with immediate availability. H2: Compensation and Benefits Compensation for this position will be commensurate with experience and qualifications and includes a benefits package but will generally exceed the industry standard for similar jobs in the Baltimore area.
