Legal Secretary - Personal Injury and Insurance Defense The candidate will provide legal secretarial support and performs a variety of duties for four attorneys in a fast-paced office. Interacting directly with clients, providing excellent client service and timely response to questions. Including scheduling client for hearings, depositions other appearances, providing them detailed and accurate information and instructions. Manage, maintain and attorney s calendar and handle all scheduling for depositions, mediations, arbitrations, trials, and etc. Update and draft correspondence, communications and other documents as needed for internal and external purposes. Types, edits, and files pleadings, discovery, and other documents. Review court dockets and track tentative rulings for attorney appearances and update calendar as appropriate. Coordinate Appearance Attorneys as needed based on court schedule. Communicates effectively by apprising of deadlines, attorney travels plans, and etc. Knowledge of courts filing procedure (State and Federal), E-Filing. Open new case files, checks conflicts of interest, maintain client and general files. Maintains professional appearance and attitude; maintains good public relations with clients; retains confidentiality of attorney-client relationship. Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned. Should have 4+ yearsof experience performing legal secretarial and administrative duties within a California law firm environment that specializes in Insurance Defense and Personal Injury litigation. Must have experience with Personal Injury and Insurance Defense. Should have knowledge and experience of relevant industry software applications, word processing, etc.
