This is the Atlanta outpost of an international firm. Although this firm is international, it still has a decidedly regional feel to it, and it international only to service certain valued clients. Life is reasonably good in the Atlanta office, where there are attorneys capable of handling every measure of legal problem faced by companies or corporations. Although the litigators are able to become more specialized, corporate associates have a general practice, which ocassional spreads them (and their expertise) a bit thin. Lagging behind in compensation, this firm is dedicated to associate life issues, and has, as a result, a good deal of devoted associates.
Trademark Practice Assistant/Paralegal Department/Intellectual Property Team The candidate will manage a trademark docket. Prepare and file relevant documents related to the prosecution and/or maintenance of U.S. and foreign trademarks, including WIPO. Correspond directly with clients and foreign associates on routine trademark-related matters. Draft detailed client and foreign associate communications for attorney review. Occasionally assist with U.S. Patent filings and reports. work with our Foreign and Quality Assurance teams, administrative staff, and attorneys to address questions, escalate issues and resolve concerns. Track and organize case materials. Assist with special projects. Work as a backup for other IP paralegals, and Track your billable hours. Desirable skills include prior trademark and patent prosecution experience as a paralegal or administrative assistant, strong communication and organization skills, detail-oriented and self-motivated, understand prioritization and client service, multi-task in a busy practice change hats frequently, and technology proficiency.
