Intellectual Property Trademark Paralegal Responsibilities: Preparing and filing US trademark applications including section 1(a), section 1(b), section 44(d), section 44(e), Madrid/WIPO, and preparing instructions to foreign associates regarding the filing of direct foreign applications, handling prosecution of those US and foreign trademark applications through registration, and handling post registration matters. Direct correspondence with clients to report USPTO and foreign trademark office correspondence to clients, managing an active trademark prosecution docket and corresponding with supervising attorneys and docketing regarding upcoming deadlines. Additional responsibilities of this position may include handling of Trademark Trial and Appeal Board matters from filing through completion. May also include handling of trademark enforcement matters including coordinating market sweeps and takedown letters. May also participate in the firm's Coverage process and Quality Control process for USPTO filings, and will track and enter time spent on client-related projects, and various other related tasks and duties as requested. Qualifications: A paralegal certificate is strongly preferred. 4+ years of law firm or corporate legal experience with an emphasis in trademark prosecution. Must have strong skills in MS Office, as well as proficiency in methods of information acquisition, including the use of online information databases, tools and resources. Should also be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with strong skills in written/verbal communication. Must have a very strong attention to detail while juggling multiple tasks. Familiarity with the iManage document system and/or Foundation IP docketing system is a plus. Familiarity with registration of copyrights and domain names is also a plus.
