Supervising Paralegal Responsibilities: Supervise the casework for a major, high volume banking client in addition to other smaller clients across various industries. Effectively communicate with clients in a clear and concise manner regarding procedural and case processing issues, identify client immigration solutions and understand current client activity. Understand the client s business and serve as a gatekeeper of client and team protocols as well as client specific guidelines. Analyze and record all client specific processes/procedures in a user manual for the team. Stay abreast of important developments in the law and issue spot with respect to future opportunities/changes. Understand existing fee agreements/billing practices and review and approve team billing. Be aware of all client profile changes, paying close attention to business opportunities. Perform data entry and audit checks to ensure all data updates are made accurately and in real time. Prepare client and internal reports. Serves as a team resource for client and office procedures. Delegate, prioritize and review work flow of junior paralegals, including assessing case strategy, assigning work, holding status meetings to review case load and progress, training new team members, answering questions, and reviewing petitions prior to filing with government agencies. Participates in office-wide projects, including training, recruiting, process improvement, and participate in employee satisfaction initiatives. Other duties as assigned. Requirements: BS or BA Degree Required. 8+ years of experience in a senior level capacity with a business immigration law firm, department or corporate immigration function in a high volume, fast paced environment. Expert knowledge of procedural requirements for various types of nonimmigrant and immigrant visas, including experience in determining case strategy and reviewing the work of others. Knowledge of case management and billing systems. Experience corresponding with clients directly on case processing and other procedural matters. Experience handling high touch client base with poise and confidence. Ability to prioritize own work and team s work and take on multiple projects. Experience managing multiple direct reports. Experience in developing process improvements that streamline and increase efficiency. Excellent attention to detail. Excellent organizational skills. Experience with reporting, including external reports for the client and internal case management reporting analytics. Exercises excellent judgment. Effective team management and communication skills. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to handle volume and work under pressure.
