Legal Assistant/Paralegal Responsibilities: Screening inquiries and conducting intakes for potential clients. Handling communications with clients, potential clients, witnesses, other lawyers and court personnel. Performing case investigations and research. Preparing draft pleadings, discovery, sworn statements and correspondence. Assisting with deposition, hearing, mediation and trial preparation. Revising and responding to discovery requests. Performing document review and data analysis. Handling and docketing filings using the electronic court filing (ECF) system in federal court and comparable systems in state court. Organizing case filings and other electronic documents. Qualifications: 2-3 years litigation experience. Must have strong organizational and interpersonal skills to provide direct litigation support and assistance to clients, court personnel, attorneys and other staff members. Must be professional, reliable, hardworking and extremely detail-oriented. Must possess a high level of initiative to complete tasks with little supervision, and the ability to multi-task, prioritize and integrate into a fast-paced, team-based work environment. Strong personal and technical skills required, and must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe Pro. A proficiency in Spanish is strongly preferred.
