Estate and Trust Paralegal The candidate will collect information related to estates and trusts, including identifying probate and non-probate assets, obtaining date of death asset values, and assisting in determining any marital property interests. Prepare probate court forms and non-probate transfer forms. Maintain communications with beneficiaries and assist in filing necessary documentation for asset transfers and claim forms for life insurance and retirement benefits. Prepare and file gift tax returns and estate tax returns. Prepare inventories and accountings for estates and trusts. Prepare real estate deeds and accompanying real estate transfer returns. Assist with funding trusts. Review account statements and maintains client files. Prepare basic loan instruments. Should have 5 years of prior estate planning and trust paralegal experience. Bachelor's Degree preferred. A paralegal certificate from an ABA accredited program is preferred. Prior probate and trust administration experience and working knowledge of Wisconsin probate court policies and procedures is required. Must have exceptional knowledge of MS Office Suite. Proficiency in ProSystem Fx Tax, Simplifile, Wisconsin Circuit Court efiling and electronic research preferred. should have prior experience with filing complex estate tax returns.
