Legal Secretary/Assistant Duties: Assists four Attorneys with preparation of legal documents, organize and maintain files; case management and preparation for depositions, hearings, and trials. Transcribes dictation as needed. Opening and closing files, maintaining electronic and hard copy file of documents and materials, maintains case lists and contact lists. Prepare and finalize correspondence to clients, courts and third parties. Organize, scan, index and maintain all correspondence, pleadings, document productions, and case documents in the proper files or case management databases. Finalizes and sends out documents. E-files legal documents. Assist attorneys with preparation for depositions, hearings and trial. Prepare expense reimbursements and arrange case-related travel and other accommodations. Assist in compliance with client billing guidelines.
Qualifications: Minimum educational requirements for this position would be a high school education. Requires 5-7 years of experience as a Legal Secretary. Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to get along with others and take direction and instructions. Ability to multi-task and work with several different attorneys on a team. Ability to learn new programs and procedures. Ability to transcribe dictation. Excellent organizational and prioritizing skills. Excellent spelling and grammar skills. Typing speed of 70 wpm. Must be able to carry out complex verbal and written instructions. Must have excellent spelling and grammar skills.
