Legal Assistant/Paralegal The candidate will work with clients from all races, backgrounds, educations, and economic levels. Preparing and serving workers' compensation pleadings; Preparing detailed claim itemizations and exhibits for workers' compensation conferences and hearings; Preparing and serving pleadings, motions, memoranda, and discovery in personal injury and medical malpractice cases; Managing incoming pleadings, notices, and scheduling; Frequent client contact (phone/email) both to respond to client requests for updates, and to interview clients to obtain documents and information; Compiling, organizing, and summarizing medical records and bills to support clients claims; Assisting attorneys in preparing for trial, arbitration, mediation, and other hearings; Drafting correspondence. Formal paralegal training from an accredited program - preferably a four-year degree program; 2+ years experience as an assistant/paralegal for a workers compensation and personal injury firm; Experience with electronic filings (federal and state); Knowledge of litigation procedures and timelines; Excellent writing skills, including grammar, spelling, and sentence structure; Outstanding interpersonal and client-service skills; Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
