Litigation Paralegal McDowell Knight Roedder & Sledge, LLC Job Summary McDowell Knight Roedder & Sledge, LLC is looking for an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our team. The Paralegal will be responsible for supporting 2-3 attorneys by organizing and gathering factual data, monitoring files, and performing legal research. The successful candidate will have knowledge of state and federal court rules and legal procedure, strong verbal communication skills, and exceptional analytical/communication/organizational skills. Job Responsibilities Review client files and gather factual data Monitor files to ensure compliance with court mandated deadlines Work closely with clients to obtain documents and information needed to comply with discovery Review documents and determine/secure attorney/client privileged information prior to production to opposing counsel Draft correspondence, written discovery, discovery requests, non-party, trial and deposition subpoenas Draft notices, motions, briefs and orders for state and federal courts Organize and summarize medical and billing records Perform legal research Assist attorney with preparation for depositions, mediations, hearings, and trial Record daily billable hours in compliance with various client guidelines Perform other duties as necessary Job Requirements Training or work experience in litigation Bankruptcy and transactional experience a plus Knowledge of state and federal court rules and legal procedure Knowledge of legal terms Strong verbal communication skills Strong organizational skills Ability to multitask and prioritize Ability to work independently and as a team Ability to manage cases from initial discovery through conclusion Proficiency in ProLaw or other legal practice management systems Strong computer skills with proficiency working in Microsoft Windows and Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, Adobe Professional, and PowerPoint Legal research tools and applications Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds Salary and Benefits McDowell Knight Roedder & Sledge, LLC offers a competitive salary of $40,000 - $65,000 per year, along with a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, life and 401(k) insurance, and paid time off.
