Active 2 days ago Paralegal - Law Firm Herbert Smith Freehills is seeking an experienced Paralegal to join their litigation and arbitration practice groups. This is a full-time, permanent position with a salary range of up to $75,000. Responsibilities: Handle paralegal duties within the litigation and arbitration practices as required for the attorneys within the New York office. Compile and organize case materials such as pleadings, discovery and correspondence documents, as well as compile relevant documents in databases and network drives to maintain an accessible case file. Assist senior paralegals and attorneys with preparing deposition witness files, document productions, briefs and other various tasks as they are assigned. Familiarity with pulling dockets and documents from PACER, NYSCEF and other Court websites. Ability to E-file in Federal and State Courts. Drafting of routine court documents such as Notices of Appearances, Pro Hac Vice Motions, Notices of Motions, Subpoenas, Stipulations and other general court documents. Conduct and provide internet research, including pulling cases from Lexis and Westlaw, as needed, along with conducting research and analyzing various law sources. Organize, analyze, and index documents and exhibits. Prepare witness preparation materials such as deposition preparation binders, direct testimony materials and cross examination materials. Assist with preparation of declarations, indexes and exhibits for opening, opposing and reply motions and arbitration submissions. Skills/Qualifications: At least 3-5 years of experience as a paralegal with a strong interest in the legal profession. BS/BA from an accredited college or university is required and a paralegal certificate is preferred. Superior working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Flexibility for overtime when needed. Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to work concurrently on a variety of projects with changing priorities. Exercise good judgment and follow through on assigned tasks.
