Litigation Paralegal Duties: The candidate will manage extensive document collection, review, and production. Review and analyze case documents for production (determining privilege and responsiveness). Assist with drafting disclosures, discovery requests, responses, and privilege logs. Conduct background investigations and prepare summaries. Assist with investigating facts, preparing case timelines, and identifying key issues and witnesses. Draft and issue subpoenas for records, depositions, and trial attendance in both federal and state courts. Request and gather federal and state agency files, and request and summarize third-party records (employment, medical, education, unemployment, Social Security, IRS). Assist with preparing documents and information for position statements, depositions, briefs, mediation, and court hearings. Index, analyze, and summarize discovery documents. Assist with deposition scheduling and prepare exhibits. Assist with analysis of financial data and prepare damages calculations. Prepare correspondence, reports, or other documents needed. Full trial and arbitration preparation and support, including preparation of pretrial filings, coordinating witnesses and preparing exhibits, creating video clips of depositions and preparing exhibits to present at trial, and assisting with identifying and preparing demonstrative exhibits. Communicate with clients and witnesses as needed. Daily time entry. Qualifications: The candidate should have a Paralegal certificate/degree from an accredited college or university, and 7+ years of proven litigation paralegal experience, preferably working in a labor/employment practice. Trial/courtroom experience, including participation at trial and utilization of Trial Director and/or TrialPad software to present case. Experience with ESI collection and document review (preferably in Relativity). Experience with billing daily hours using ABA or other client billing codes, and meeting yearly billing requirements. Strong organizational skills, and ability to give attention to detail and manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks to meet case deadlines. Strong verbal and written communication skills, and ability to make independent decisions when needed. Work effectively with attorneys and staff. Ability to research court rules and forms, and utilize online resources. Proficient in Microsoft applications, including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and Outlook. Litigation experience in both federal and state court, and familiarity with ECF or other court electronic filing systems.
