Junior Paralegal - Technology & IP Transactions Duties: Provide legal and administrative support to paralegals and attorneys in the Technology and Intellectual Property Transactions Group. Assist with the review and confirmation of intellectual property owned by clients and target acquisitions. Create intellectual property schedules related to same; compare disclosure materials to results generated by library database searches; confirm information online using various government websites and intellectual property search engines; help determine relevant issues/action items to be reviewed by attorneys. Help review information provided by companies and verify their responses to due diligence inquiries. Assist in drafting memos for attorneys and paralegals, which summarize due diligence search results. Work closely with the Technology and IP Transactions groups in other Kirkland offices, including other paralegals and attorneys. Maintain and update the Guides and Procedures of the Department which is used to assist junior paralegals newly assigned to the group and as a resource for others who are assisting the Group on projects. This is also used to better transition attorneys and staff into the group. Track use of government agency deposit account usage and process replenishment requests for same. Open to assisting and working on projects with related practice groups if/when need arises. Maintain /organize work space files both electronic and paper. Commitment to work overtime as needed, which maybe be heavy at times, and may include weekends or holidays with potential to be for extended periods of time. Qualifications: College graduate with a strong interest in the legal profession and Technology & IP Transactions law, with the ability to commit to the position for a 2+ years. Excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary with the ability to interact professionally with staff, attorneys, clients and vendors. Must be able to work independently as well as with a team, have an acute attention to detail and be able to multi-task and prioritize while working in a high pressure, deadline-driven environment. Strong technical skills are required, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and a Document Management System; knowledge of Carpe Diem and Westlaw, Compulaw, and Sharepoint is a plus. Overtime availability is a must and a college degree is required.
