Patent Paralegal The candidate's responsibilities include: Perform high quality, billable work; Review and organize patent files, reviewing docket for deadlines; Prioritize workload to meet patent foreign filing deadlines and due dates; Prepare and review appropriate correspondence to and from foreign associates and clients regarding new patent applications, formal requirements, filing details, etc. Assist in filing of U.S. and PCT patent applications, both electronically and paper (including preparation and review of necessary filing documents); Should have extensive knowledge of U.S. patent rules and procedures; knowledge of PCT, and/or national patent laws of other countries; Process Office Actions; File and assist in prosecution of design patent applications; Track chain of title in U.S. patents and ability to perfect same; Communication with the USPTO and relevant knowledge regarding the USPTO databases; Prepare, maintain and update reports for clients regarding status of patent applications and issued patents, including reporting filing receipts for applications, publication notices and forwarding patent certificates. Must have at least three years of patent law experience. This is a full time opportunity in our Cincinnati, Dayton, Chicago, Detroit, Louisville, Lexington, Pittsburgh or Indianapolis office. Should have a minimum of 3 years intellectual property experience, previous foreign filing experience and strong computer and research skills. General knowledge of patent filing and patent prosecution rules/regulations is required. Experience using Anaqua and/or CPI docketing software is a plus.
