Paralegal The candidate will assist and provide a wide range of legal support to the supervising attorneys. Duties will include: maintaining files, conducting legal research, drafting documents, communicating with clients and other parties involve in the cases etc. Conduct research on relevant laws, regulations and articles. Organize and maintain documents in the physical file and in the firms document Management software. Gather, maintain current and arrange evidence and other legal documents for attorney review and case preparation. Write reports to help attorneys prepare for trial. Obtain affidavits and other formal documents/statements that may be used as evidence in court. Assist lawyers during trials by handlings exhibits, taking notes or reviewing trial transcripts. File exhibits, briefs, appeals and other legal documents (after lawyer has reviewed and approved) with the court or opposing council. Reach out to clients, witnesses, lawyers and outside vendors to schedule interviews, meetings, or depositions. Knowledge of law offices common practices and the legal field is required. Must be self-motivated and able to meet deadlines under pressure. Must have the ability to work as part of a team, as well as to work independently, with minimal supervision. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. E-filing knowledge in preparation to file all types of discovery requests, responses to opposing counsel, and motions is required. Knowledge of legal documents and terminology is required. Knowledge of billing is required. Knowledge of investigating the facts of a case is required. Bachelor's degree, or Associates degree, or certificate degree in paralegal studies, or 5+ years of experience as a paralegal.
