Bankruptcy Paralegal The candidate will do: Preparation of shells, notices, motions, proposed orders, proofs of claim, stipulations, affidavits and drafting of various other bankruptcy documents. Compiling, preparing, and summarizing relevant materials for use by attorneys in all phases of bankruptcy litigation. Monitors dockets for relevant pleadings, conducts docket searches and pulls and organizes docket filings. Electronic filing using CM/ECF and NextGen. Maintains legal calendaring system to ensure timely compliance with various legal deadlines. Maintenance of case files in all assigned matters. Organize and track status of cases and assist in the management of attorney court appearances. Performs other related duties as assigned by supervising attorneys. Should have 5+ years of previous experience as a Bankruptcy Paralegal. Must have working knowledge and understanding of federal bankruptcy court processes and procedures including electronic filing portals. Additional experience in State Court cases with litigation filings preferred. Should have technologically adept with excellent Word, Excel, and Adobe skills. Must have experience editing, bookmarking, and indexing PDFs. Must be proficient in navigating Federal Court websites to research local rules and familiarity with legal research, including use of Pacer and Westlaw. Should have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have excellent administrative/secretarial proofreading skills, including attention to detail. Minimum of high school graduation. Paralegal certificate preferred.
