Paralegal Duties: Provide support to an attorney. Assist lawyers with all phases of client work, including document/information management, factual and legal research; discovery, briefings, hearings, and trial support. Document organization and review, including identifying important documents, summarizing key information, preparing coverage charts, chronologies, and witness lists. Assist with document productions, including reviewing for the privilege, redacting/bates labeling, preparing privilege logs research, and preparing background information on individuals, companies, judges, and attorneys. Quickly and accurately provide information related to the rules of civil procedure, including a solid understanding of the Court's and Judges rules and standing orders. Cite-checking per BlueBook rules. Keep accurate time records and comply with clients billing requirements. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent, Bachelor's degree preferred; and Paralegal certificate, preferably with litigation focus from an accredited paralegal program. Must have 2 years of relevant experience. Should be a self-starter with strong technical skills and exceptional organizational skills. Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills. Should preferably have a familiarity with e-discovery software applications such as NextPoint, Relativity, or Concordance; document management systems such as NetDocs or FileSite; Sharepoint or DropBox; and Westlaw. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important client deadlines must be met. Ability to anticipate work needs and follow through with minimum direction. Ability to handle multiple assignments and successfully adapt to changing priorities and work demands.
