Paralegal The candidate will draft pleadings and discovery. Draft discovery motions and orders. Schedule depositions and hearings. Prepare deposition notices and schedule court reporters. Prepare documents for production (review for privilege and bates label). Make docket call announcements as required by local rules. Calculate and calendar deadlines per court rules and/or scheduling orders. Calendar depositions, mediations, etc., with appropriate reminders. Edit, format, and finalize various documents. Open and close case files per Policy & Procedures Manual. Maintain client and general files. Maintain case information sheets and service lists. Prepare client engagement letters from form templates. Run conflict checks. Identify potential conflicts and draft conflict waivers from form templates. Compose transmittal and other correspondence. Assemble and maintain trial notebooks. Prepare for trial and arbitration. Summarize depositions. Coordinate travel arrangements. Perform overflow work on an as-needed basis; and General case-related administrative assistance (photocopying, correspondence, filing, taking meeting minutes, tracking updates). B.A. and/or paralegal certificate with 2-3 years of experience in litigation required. Preferred experience with professional liability insurance defense practice and associated billing protocols, deadlines, and budgeting/reporting requirements. Should have excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills. Should possess a strong attention to detail, exhibit a polished, professional, friendly demeanor, and work well in a team environment. Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, Westlaw, and time keeping system required.
