Paralegal The candidate will be preparing documents like affidavits and legal correspondence, organizing and maintaining files. Will also be filing pleadings with court clerks, helping prepare for trials by organizing exhibits, and assisting with other tasks as required. Drafting legal documents and pleadings, including deposition notices, subpoenas, motions, certifications, contracts, briefs, and complaints. Investigating the facts of a case by interviewing clients and witnesses and performing legal research into case law and precedents. Filing documents with federal and state courts; organizing and maintaining documents in a paper or electronic filing system and meeting with clients, attorneys, and other professionals. Be directing and coordinating law office activity, including delivery of subpoenas, scheduling of depositions and processing of discovery, and gathering and analyzing statutes, decisions, and legal articles, codes, documents, and other data. The candidate must have a Certificate of completion from an ABA-approved paralegal certification program of education and training or an Associate Degree in paralegal studies. Must also have strong oral and written communication skills. Must be computer proficient in Adobe Acrobat, Word, Outlook, Excel. Should also have office administration experience. Should preferably have 2+ years of experience as a Paralegal and 3+ years of experience working on MS Office. Knowledge in the area of immigration, family law, or criminal defense is preferred. Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) fluency is a plus. Strong organization skills desired.
