Paralegal The candidate will file US patent applications (provisional, non-provisional and U.S. national phase), Review USPTO communications, prepare and file formality responses (e.g., request for corrected filing receipt, response to missing parts, etc.), Assist patent attorneys/agents in preparing and filing responses to the Office Actions, Prepare and send (or assist patent attorneys/agents in preparing and sending) correspondence to the clients, Serve as point of contact for clients as needed, Prepare and file or record formal documents, including Application Datasheet, Declarations, Powers of Attorney, Assignments, Request for Corrected Filing Receipts, Response to Notice of Missing Parts, and other documents as required, Review incoming correspondence regarding current status of applications and ensure accuracy of information, including patent applications, formal requirements, filing details, etc. Perform research and compile data as requested, Review, process and maintain client dockets for filing deadlines and follow up with patent attorneys/agents when needed, Send reminders to clients for executed formal documents, upcoming deadlines, etc. Prepare and file information disclosure statements (IDSs) when needed, Conduct post allowance formality review, pay issue fees, report issue notification and Letters Patents, High School diploma required, Paralegal certificate preferred, Minimum of five years of patent admin/paralegal experience, Strong writing ability and exceptional communication skills are required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and IP software systems, Ability to build strong working relationships with clients, attorneys and colleagues, Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, Ability to take initiative to complete tasks, Ability of work well both independently and as part of a team, Must be able to perform all essential job duties as outlined above.
