This firm has a good reputation in the Texas legal community and is a solid Texas law firm. This firm's reputation is best for its corporate practice; however, recently the firm has rapidly expanded the work that it is doing in the litigation arena and is considered very good in this field. In recent years, this firm has acquired some practice groups in areas like telecommunications, for example, from other Texas firms and appears very selective in terms of the lateral partner groups it is willing to absorb into the firm. On a similar note, it is important to note that this is a very difficult firm to get a position in, and the attorneys working here are primarily at the top of their class and attended very good law schools. This firm is well known for its lavish and "all out" summer program and does a very good job wooing the associates it is interested in having join its firm. Additionally, the firm does have a very collegial type of atmosphere and associates here all seem to get along pretty well and the relationships between partners and associates are well regarded. Many of the associates here have been know to socialize frequently outside of work. All in all, we believe this is a very good Texas firm. In terms of its salary, it is on par with most important Texas firms. For associates wishing to practice sophisticated corporate law this firm is an excellent choice.
