This large boutique firm has offices in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. Their practice is broad-ranging, from all aspects of patent, trademark, and copyright law, to advice on entertainment law, security interests in intellectual property, and related aspects of commercial law and other legal areas dealing with technology. We’ve been told that they have a test that everyone must take before interviewing, and it’s quite difficult. The firm’s clients range from individual inventors and start-up companies to some of the world's largest multinational corporations. While there are some negative comments about the hours required, the hours seem commensurate with the salary, firm quality and work required.
Legal Secretary The candidate should have preferably with experience as a Trademark Paralegal/Legal Secretary for a position in its New York Office. Prior experience preferred but willing to train the right candidate. Must have experience with US and foreign trademark filings, assignment recordals, renewals and knowledge of local trademark laws and requirements. He or she must be able to effectively communicate with clients and local counsel regarding trademark matters. Should be able to conduct trademark status reports using USPTO and other electronic databases and maintain trademark files. Excellent spelling, grammar, proofreading, telephone communication, computer and organizational skills are a must. Should be able to produce correspondence and draft handwritten or oral instructions to counsel worldwide.
