Civil Litigation Paralegal Duties : The candidate will work directly with attorneys to manage multiple cases and perform substantive legal work. Maintain and manage multiple files for multiple attorneys. Utilize multiple research sources to develop information/facts for pending cases. Draft and finalize (after review by attorney) pleadings, motions, discovery, discovery responses and correspondence. Prepare and coordinate witness and document subpoenas. Use Florida eFile Portal to electronically file court documents. Determine and manage court deadlines. Perform legal research. Manage document production.
Requirements : The candidate should have Associates Degree with 2 years of work experience as a paralegal, preferably in a law firm. Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screen. Have basic knowledge of Federal and Florida civil court systems, legal concepts and legal documents. Should have experience using the Florida eFile Portal. Should have proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, and conducting Internet Based public records searches. Should be able to learn and utilize new technology quickly. Should be able to edit documents for spelling, grammar and punctuation. Able to vary writing style to meet needs.
