Legal Secretary/Assistant The candidate will provide overall operations assistance firm-wide. Will play an intricate role in the day-to-day operations as the legal assistant assist with case management, legal document preparation, billing projects, and time entry. Job duties will include scanning incoming mail, calendaring deadlines, speaking with clients and various courts, occasional runs to the court, legal document preparation and retrieving the mail along with other general office duties. Must be familiar with Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel. 3+ years of previous Insurance Defense experience in a law firm required. 2+ years of experience in Insurance Defense. Bodily Injury experience is a big plus. Expertise with reviewing medical records and compiling medical chronologies is essential. Must have excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, be detail oriented, hard-working, enthusiastic, team oriented, and have a determination to figure it out. Excellent communication skills, typing skills, computer skills and interpersonal skills and professional appearance is essential. Must have active knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure, preparing and responding to discovery, subpoenas as well as knowledge and experience in preparing basic legal documents and pleadings. Should be familiar with Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Word and Excel.
