Legal Secretary Responsibilities: Coordinate heavy scheduling and calendaring for attorney meetings, court deadlines, depositions, etc. Heavy client contact, contact with witnesses and opposing counsel to obtain information pertinent to the case matter. Organize records, documents, correspondence, and files into a manageable format. Open up new client/matter numbers, run conflict checks and assist with engagement letters as required. Ability to manage the process to completion timely and accurate. CA State court filings using the One Legal platform. Qualification Should have a high school graduation, Paralegal Certificate or Associates Degree preferred, and 5 years of direct experience working as a litigation secretary in a law firm. Experienced with large document production organization, redaction, etc. Pre-trial prep and trial assistance experience preferred. Experienced with large document production organization, redaction, etc. Experience handling multiple attorneys with full caseloads. Must be well versed in the state, US Federal, and Appellate Court Case Management/Electronic Case File (CM/ECF)/PACER system, including submission of electronic filings. Strong working knowledge of the various requirements and procedures and the ability to research when not familiar. Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, PPT, and e-filing skills in state and federal court plus a working knowledge of iManage, Chrome River and Aderant Time Entry. Excellent interpersonal, writing and speaking skills; be accurate, organized and detail-oriented; and be able to juggle several tasks simultaneously and work effectively under pressure. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in formatting letters, legal documents, motions, discovery shells, notice of deposition (personal appearance as well as for business records), CMC Statements, bookmarking, TOA, TOC, etc. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 2010 or above (Word, Outlook, Excel).
