Family Law Paralegal Responsibilities: Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude; Calendar and consistently track hearing dates and case deadlines through TimeMatters case management software; Coordinate and schedule client meetings and attorney telephone conferences; Review and prepare financial disclosure documents; Gather, organize, and serve discovery; Draft, proofread, edit and revise for the responsible attorney: premarital agreements, separation agreements, Family Court orders, pleadings, motions, cover sheets, e-mail and letter correspondence; Communicate as needed with clients, opposing counsels offices, and Wake County Family Court representatives by e-mail and telephone; Help prepare clients and clients files for mediations, depositions, and court hearings; Prepare trial exhibit notebooks and pleadings index binders; Accurately track and enter billable time; Share in answering incoming telephone calls from current clients; Accept and apply client payments; and Various other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelors Degree; Certificate from an ABA-certified paralegal program preferred; 3+ years experience working in a professional office environment (paralegal experience strongly preferred; family law paralegal experience strongly preferred); Excellent writing and communication skills; Must be detail-oriented; Proficiency with (or ability to quickly learn) the Tenth Judicial District Family Court Rules, as they pertain to calendaring hearings, financial disclosures, and deadlines for disclosures; Ability to multitask with strong organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to manage and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines; Positive perspective and good sense of humor; Ability to take constructive criticism and learn from mistakes; Must be a team player; Ability to work effectively during periods of stress; and Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat (experience with timekeeping and case management software preferred).
