Paralegals The candidate will will facilitate and manage all aspects of the employment cycle of firm staff attorneys and paralegals, including recruitment, onboarding, utilization, performance evaluation, and retention. Support the Corporate practice groups with resource allocation and productivity management. Communicate with assigning attorneys to respond to and clarify staffing requests; conduct outreach to staff attorneys and paralegals regarding capacity and overall workflow. Manage staff attorney and paralegal utilization and assignments. Monitor time and availability of staff attorneys and paralegals to effectively assign and reallocate matters, as necessary, and maximize overall productivity. Manage work assignment policies, procedures and systems, including work assignment tracking, time-entry compliance, vacation requests/approvals, etc.. Manage staff attorney and paralegal evaluation process, including annual and interim evaluations. Monitor and address performance issues. Identify hiring needs, interview of candidates and prepare hiring approval requests and offer letters. Facilitate the orientation of new staff attorneys and paralegals. Assist with the departing staff attorney and paralegal process, including transitioning of work. Liaise directly with clients on protocols/best practices and secondments. Act as a resource for staff attorneys and paralegals; guide and mentor staff attorneys and paralegals, and connect them to Firm or other resources. Identify training needs and help develop substantive training programs. Develop and manage initiatives to create a cohesive team and meaningful connections within the group. Coordinate and develop agendas and substantive topics and presentations for group meetings. Facilitate communication within the staff attorney and paralegal cohorts, including proactively developing and managing various communications to the cohorts. Develop and manage group events. Serve as point person for problem-solving and resolution. Connect regularly with staff attorneys and paralegals to monitor morale and address any concerns. Assist with annual budget preparation, operational costs and related reporting. Provide assistance on ad-hoc projects, as needed. Perform additional duties as needed. Bachelor's degree is required. Should have 4-6 years of experience in a law firm or professional services firm. Knowledge of legal principles and practices is a plus.
