Litigation Paralegal Duties: Obtain, review, organize preliminary documentation and information received from clients and opposing counsel. Prepare a chronology of facts and create production logs. Organize documents and coordinate document productions to include bates-stamping, redaction, and indexing of documents. Work under the guidance of an attorney on electronic productions. Create and maintain internal case management databases, run searches on internal and external resources. Assist in locating fact witnesses and expert witnesses; gather and prepare documents relevant to testimony; conduct interviews of witnesses within scope of paralegal s job function. Assist attorney(s) in developing the defense of case and trial strategy. Assist attorneys with incorporation process. Draft correspondence, routine motions and responsive pleadings. Assist in trial preparations to include organization of file and exhibits; coordinate trial set-up and logistics; assist attorneys in courtroom when needed; serve as liaison with witnesses. Qualifications: A four year degree in Paralegal Studies or a bachelor's degree in another field with a certification in Paralegal Studies. 2+ years of experience working as a paralegal in the general litigation practice area with focus in family law. Some additional experience in corporate transactional areas is preferred. Knowledge of legal principles and practices at a level normally acquired through formal paralegal training. Ability to multi-task and prioritize work to meet project deadlines. Ability to proofread material for contextual, grammatical, typographic or spelling errors. Ability to review, organize, analyze and summarize facts and documents. Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate and follow instructions effectively from clients and attorneys. Interpersonal skills to work with other members in a positive, teamwork environment to service our clients. Advanced knowledge of Word and Outlook. Proficient in document management and case management software.
