Litigation Paralegal Duties: Obtain, review, organize preliminary documentation and information received from clients and opposing counsel. Prepare a chronology of facts and create production logs. Organize documents and coordinate document productions to include bates-stamping, redaction, and indexing of documents. Work under the guidance of an attorney on electronic productions. Create and maintain internal case management databases, run searches on internal and external resources. Assist in locating fact witnesses and expert witnesses; gather and prepare documents relevant to testimony; conduct interviews of witnesses within scope of paralegal s job function. Assist attorney(s) in developing the defense of case and trial strategy. Assist attorneys with incorporation process. Draft correspondence, routine motions and responsive pleadings. Assist in trial preparations to include organization of file and exhibits; coordinate trial set-up and logistics; assist attorneys in courtroom when needed; serve as liaison with witnesses. Qualifications: A four year degree in Paralegal Studies or a bachelor's degree in another field with a certification in Paralegal Studies. 2+ years of experience working as a paralegal in the general litigation practice area with focus in family law. Some additional experience in corporate transactional areas is preferred. Knowledge of legal principles and practices at a level normally acquired through formal paralegal training. Ability to multi-task and prioritize work to meet project deadlines. Ability to proofread material for contextual, grammatical, typographic or spelling errors. Ability to review, organize, analyze and summarize facts and documents. Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate and follow instructions effectively from clients and attorneys. Interpersonal skills to work with other members in a positive, teamwork environment to service our clients. Advanced knowledge of Word and Outlook. Paralegal Assistant

Paralegal Assistant The candidate will provide assistance to attorneys and paralegals in the Intellectual Property Practice Specialty Center with fact investigations, document preparation and production, database management and file organization, court and Patent Trial and Appeal Board filings, docketing/case management, and overall client service. Functions specific to intellectual property litigation may include assistance in preparation of pleadings, motions, and briefs and accompanying exhibits, electronic filing in Federal courts around the country and in inter partes review proceedings at the PTAB, download and organize files from United States Patent Office, cite-checking, deposition preparation, management of document production databases, and hearing preparation including assist in preparing PowerPoint presentations for Markman, summary judgment and other hearings. Cite checking and proofing of filings. Deadline tracking and docketing. Manage competing priorities and attorney and paralegal expectations. Independently organize and manage files, including those subject to protective orders, or delegate similar tasks to Records Clerk and supervise same. Attend and participate in in-house CLEs. Anticipate attorney and paralegal needs. Meet billable hour requirement of 1000 per year. Should have proficiency with Word and PowerPoint. Should learn/develop technical proficiency in database use and management; Internet/electronic research; and project folder/electronic file maintenance. Should have the ability to deliver superior service to all internal and external customers and communicate effectively. Ability to interact in a professional and courteous manner with clients and employees at all times; professional appearance required. Should have the ability to successfully perform position requirements with excellent organizational, time-management and prioritization skills required. 1 year of related experience is preferred.
