Ip Legal Assistant Duties: The candidate will prepare documents for US patent application filings, including provisional, non-provisional, CON, DIV, RCE applications, and all related documents for filing with USPTO. Assist with locating documents on the Internet in support of USPTO filings, such as, but not limited to, application filings, assignment filings, and office action responses. Prepare documents and file Responses to USPTO Actions. Prepare reporting communications and routine correspondence to clients. Prepare reminder correspondence with clients regarding upcoming deadlines. Prepare formal documents for client signature, obtain an appropriate signature, and follow up as needed. Assist with preparing correspondence regarding enforcement of IP rights and keeping track of response deadlines, and sending follow-up letters requesting a response. Prepare correspondence with foreign associates throughout the world on patent matters forwarding office action and requesting they take a certain action or responding to inquiries requesting they take a certain action. Review the docket, provide updated information to the docket staff, and reconcile the docket as directed. Provide backup support for other IP teams. Qualifications: The candidate should have a college degree is required. Interest and capacity to learn and develop skills as an IP legal secretary. Strong detail-orientation ability to multi-task. Strong document processing and project management skills. Proficiency in advanced levels of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word. Experience with document management program A" iManage DeskSite preferred Experience with IP docketing software A" FoundationIP preferred. Ability to learn and utilize the firm's software applications within a reasonable period of time. Outstanding written and verbal communications and ability to interact professionally with clients, attorneys, and staff. Experience working collaboratively and applying an individual commitment to a group or team environment in the spirit of cooperation to complete tasks efficiently and quickly.
