Legal Secretary Duties: Support its alcohol and cannabis regulatory practice. Provides legal and administrative support for the firm s attorneys and the Executive Director in a busy, thriving practice with interesting clients. Support 6 attorneys and see to their day-to-day needs, with less frequent requests from other attorneys and paralegals; Prepare, format and proof-read correspondence, legal documents and memos, PowerPoint presentations, excel sheets, blog posts, website updates, and marketing materials as requested; Prepare administrative filings, manage administrative hearing calendaring and legal files for active cases; Coordinate client meetings and calls and conference travel arrangements for attorneys, ordering food and preparing refreshments for office meetings; Manage office and kitchen supplies and presentation, coordinate direct mailings, and work on special projects (party planning, client intake, technology upgrades, etc.); Maintain and update filing system, library of trade journals and magazines and wine cellar inventory; Receptionist duties as direct calls are received (noting that there is a recorded call routing system). Qualifications: High school diploma with 2+ years of legal experience, and 5 years of combined professional office experience. Must be: detail-oriented, tech-savvy, proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, able to organize a legal calendar and prepare legal documents in proper format for administrative filings, capable of working cooperatively with staff and attorneys alike but also able to take ownership of projects and work independently, well-spoken and able to clearly communicate by email, and willing to learn new skills. Requires prior legal experience and a can-do attitude to be able to hit the ground running.
